In the foothills of the White Carpathians lies the Uherský Brod Observatory, which offers a number of engaging programmes for the public, schools and younger children throughout the year. Stargazing evenings with telescopes are equally popular. The public tours present the myriad beauties that can be observed in the night sky, and also illuminate the many mysteries of the universe around us. The digital planetarium displays individual objects in space as seen from Earth with the naked eye, and allows us to see objects that we cannot see with the naked eye. Visitors can see the accelerated movements of cosmic bodies, the passage of galaxies, the explosion of a supernova or a journey to the limits of the universe. A unique representation of the planets in the shape of granite spheres can also be observed in the town – the 7-km-long Planetary Trail will take you through the historical centre of Uherský Brod and its immediate surroundings.
