The recreational grounds, which opened in 2003, are situated below the Travičná observation tower. They host a showcase wildlife garden where you can visit a small museum of the Kopanice timbered buildings, a service tree arboretum with an exhibition, a herb and vegetable garden, an ecological nature trail with seven informative stops, and also attractions for young and old – climbing frames, a mouse hole and a rabbit hole, animated animal statues, and more. There are facilities for cultural events and an annual autumn festival of the fruits of the service tree, the Service Tree Harvest Festival, is held during the third weekend in September. There are restored pasture orchards for sheep, cows and horses. Children can see animals such as geese, ducks, rabbits, pigs, sheep, goats and dogs, explore nature on a nature trail with rare plants and wildlife to observe, and make things from natural materials. By arrangement, you can have a pleasant time sitting around a campfire. In the local arboretum you can see and taste the fruits of trees that are typical of this region – not only the service tree, but also mulberry, dogwood, wild service and medlar.
