Visit the open-air museum, where history comes to life, and go back to the times of cottages with thatched roofs, craftsmen’s workshops, peace and harmony. Since 1981, visitors have been able to visit Moravské Kopanice, Luhačovice Zálesí and Horňácko. In addition there are water buildings, wine-growing buildings and farmland. Each unit, set in artificially modelled terrain, gives an example of the distinctive appearance of the settlement, the structure of the homesteads and the equipment from residential and farming areas of Moravian Slovakia, with examples of folk production and specific methods of agricultural work. Permanent exhibition: Clay architecture in Moravia. Twelve thematic events, workshops and live animals.
The National Institute of Folk Culture in Strážnice is the founder and professional guarantor of the Museum of the Villages of South-east Moravia.
