On the outskirts of the village of Hluk, on a road with the old name of Rajčovňa, you can find farmhouses Nos. 283 and 284. They are an example of folk housing in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. They are built of adobe bricks – mud bricks. The walls are covered with cob made of barley husk, clay and water, and set with lime. On the roof, you cannot miss the old-fashioned white chimneys, and the small simple windows, low doors and typical gates are also noteworthy. The houses “come to life” during festivities such as the Fašank, feasts or the Ride of the Kings, and exhibitions and events also take place here. They can also be visited at any time of the year. Since 2010, these two houses have been joined by two neighbouring reconstructed houses, called the museum houses.
